Who was Mirza Ghalib?


Mirza Ghalib also known as 'Asad' was born in 1797 and died in 1869. During this course of time, Ghalib wrote in many Genre of poetry like: Ghazals, Marsiya, and Qasida and many others also. He is famous for his Ghazals on Love. It is believed that the original pen name of Mirza Ghalib was "Asad" due to the name "Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan" but as he started writing more and more poems he embraced the pen name "Ghalib".

  • याद है शादी में भी हंगामा-ए-या-रब  मुझे 
  • सुरमा-ए-मुफ्त-ए-नज़र हूँ मेरी क़ीमत ये है 
  • ओहदे  मध-ए-नज़ के बहार न आ सका 
  • हुस्न-ए-बेपरवा खरीदार-ए-मता-ए-जलवा है
  • आह को चाहिए इक उम्र असर होने तक 
  • हर एक बात पे कहते हो तुम की तू क्या है 
  • हज़ारों ख्वाइशें ऐसी की हर हशिश पे दम  निकले 
  • दर्द मिन्नत काश-ए-दवा न हुआ 
  • कोई उम्मीद बर आती नहीं
  • न था कुछ तो खुदा था 
  • आ की मेरी जान को क़रार नहीं हैं 
  • गर तुझको है यक़ीन-ए- इज़ाबत  दुआ न माँग 
  • ज़हर-ए-ग़म कर चुका  था मेरा काम 
  • ज़िन्दगी अपनी जब इस  शक्ल  से गुज़री 'ग़ालिब'
  • तुम न आये तोह क्या सहर न हुई 
  • दिल लगा कर लग गया उनको भी तनहा बैठना 
  • वह हर एक बात पर कहना की योन होता तोह क्या होता 
  • बाद मरने के मेरे  यह समां निकला
  • क्या बने बात
